Harry Styles Revealed To Audition Elvis Film But Didn't Pass

JAKARTA - Harry Styles revealed the fact that he auditioned for the biopic Elvis. This rumor had circulated on the internet where the singer auditioned and competed with Miles Teller.

Styles shared this fact when he was a guest on The Howard Stern Show on Wednesday, May 18. He is here to promote his new album, Harry's House, which will be released today, Friday, May 20.

"Elvis was the first person I knew after my family when I was a kid," said Harry Styles.

“For some reason, there is something extraordinary around him. I thought I should try to get the role," said Styles.

But the role of Elvis Presley fell to Austin Butler. Hearing this, Harry Styles was relieved because he thought Butler was the right choice. Baz Luhrman's Elvis film is slated to premiere on June 24.

“I felt the director didn't think I was the right person for the role and that was best for them. If they think the film will do better with someone else then I don't want to play it," said Harry Styles.

At the same time, Harry Styles also denied the rumors in his new album. One of his tracks, Daylight, has the same title as a track from his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift's Lover album.

"You know, I wanted to tell you it's true, but no. We'll always be wondering," Harry Styles replied with a smile.

On the other hand, Harry Styles released his latest album titled Harry's House. Previously he released the title track As It Was and set a record as a solo singer with the most number of listeners. Harry Styles' latest album, Harry's House, can be heard both physically and digitally starting today, Friday, May 20.
