Nia Zulkarnaen Doesn't Know Mieke Widjaja Is Sick Of Cancer: Mama Never Wants To Say I'm Sick

JAKARTA - Mieke Widjaja's health condition before his death had indeed gone up and down. Even the family did not know that the senior artist had cancer.

The daughter, Nia Zulkarnaen, explained that since Tuesday (3/5) yesterday, Mieke's condition has deteriorated because she does not want to eat.

"Many people were quite surprised because my mother never wanted to tell me that she was sick. So, apart from being 82 years old, yesterday she didn't even want to eat. So her condition has decreased," Nia said, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, May 4.

"Finally, we took him to the hospital for treatment. He was hospitalized for about 45 days, but after returning home, it was getting better, it turned out to have decreased again one day before Eid. And yesterday, April 3 at 19.30 WIB, Mama passed away to rahmatullah," he explained.

VOI participated in covering the funeral of Mieke Wijaya at the Tanah Kusir TPU, Jakarta. The funeral process which went smoothly was also accompanied by feelings of emotion from family and relatives.

Nia Zulkarnaen did not stop sobbing. Her husband, Ari Sihasale seemed to embrace beside him. The cries grew louder as the funeral procession was almost over. When the ground covered Mieke Wijaya's body, Nia cried hysterically without stopping.

Nia said, her mother did have diabetes. But it turns out that Mieke also has cancer.

And apparently again, Nia admitted that the family did not know about the disease.

“He has diabetes and recently he has cancer. We don't all know that either. So it wasn't just friends or the crowd who were surprised. Our family is also in shock," he said.

Before he died, Mieke was hospitalized for 45 days.

Mieke Wijaya's body was buried in the same grave as her husband, the late actor Dicky Zulkarnaen. This is the request of the family and the desire of the husband.
