So Cool, This Is Gofar Hilman's Response To The Apology Of The Woman Who Accused Him Of Harassment

JAKARTA - Be careful when playing social media, if you don't want the business to be long, even to the detriment of others. Presenter Gofar Hilman must experience this. On Saturday, February 12, he responded to a clarification from those who accused him of sexual harassment.

Gofar's response came a day after the owner of the Twitter account @guweenjoo, Hafsyarina Sufa Rebowo or Syerin - who once claimed to be a victim of sexual harassment by Gofar - posted a tweet apologizing and clarifying.

On Friday, February 11, Syerin said the sexual harassment did not actually occur and the allegations were based on delusion and imagination.

On his Twitter account today, Gofar wrote, "I have been trying for 9 months to find a light on the allegations of sexual harassment on my behalf on June 8, 2021, from contacting related parties and their companions, as well as taking other formal methods but nothing has come of it."

Gofar continued, he met with Syerin through the mediation process by the police on February 10, 2022. Both parties disclosed the chronology of the incident before the police.

"Alhamdulillah, the mediation process went smoothly and there was no debate between the two parties," wrote Gofar.

He added that before he presented evidence or presented a defence, the accuser knowingly and voluntarily admitted that the tweet on Twitter on June 8, 2021, was untrue.

"The person concerned explained that his actions at that time were delusional," said Gofar as quoted by Antara.

Gofar added that he had sincerely forgiven and this incident had taught the person concerned a lesson. He hopes this can be a lesson for many people to be more responsible in using social media.

He thanked the police and those who supported him. Gofar emphasized that he did not force Syerin to say things that contradicted the facts presented during mediation.

"Everything that is narrated about how powerful I am is actually things that are beyond my capacity. My only intention is simply to meet Syerin, talk and find a bright spot together. Not everyone can accept and understand, but what is there is not a compulsion and engineering."

On June 8, 2021, Syerin tweeted that Gofar Hilman had sexually harassed her. But in the apology video, he said, "I want to clarify that this is not true and this clarification video was made without coercion from anyone or anything."

Syerin continued, on August 19 2018 she went to an event and drank alcohol, then met Gofar Hilman to take a selfie video and was then greeted by Gofar with a hug.

Syerin emphasized that Gofar was just embracing. Explaining what was behind his June 8 tweet, with a pause between sentences, he said he was hooked on other stories of sexual harassment. Then there are delusions or imaginative internal urges to tell this to the public.

He apologized to Gofar Hilman, Gofar's family and affected parties for the irresponsible tweet. He stated that he did not expect that the tweet would go viral and create a scene.

In a thread on Twitter, he wrote that he felt uneasy when he had uploaded a tweet that went viral. He wanted to apologize for defaming Gofar, but on the other hand there was fear and confusion.

"For that, I, as well as my parents, apologize profusely to Gofar and his family, as well as all parties who feel aggrieved for the mistakes I have made. I have learned a lot from this mistake."
