Ministry Of Industry Supply 309 Textile Industry Manpower From Bandung STTT Polytechnic

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) through the Bandung STTT Polytechnic gave birth to 309 graduates in the textile and textile products to meet the needs of competent workers in realizing a globally resilient and competitive industry.

Head of the Industrial Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDMI) of the Ministry of Industry Masrokhan said that the construction of competent industrial human resources is one of the priority programs of the Ministry of Industry, which is carried out through education and vocational training.

"One of them is through the role of the Bandung STTT Polytechnic, vocational higher education in the field of textiles and textile products, which are able to produce graduates from the Applied Bachelor and Applied Masters level," Masrokhan said in a written statement, quoted Monday, November 27.

Masrokhan assessed that the implementation of vocational education was fully aimed at ensuring the availability of competent human resources that matched the needs of the industry.

"Therefore, the link and match between vocational education and the industrial business world is a must, starting from planning, learning, to placement of graduates," he said.

In 2023, the Bandung STTT Polytechnic gave birth to 309 graduates consisting of 7 RTA Implemented Masters Study Programs, 91 Textile Engineering Study Programs, 86 Textile Chemical Study Programs, 56 Garmen Production Study Programs, 30 Fashion Design Garment Concentration Production Study Programs, and 30 Industrial Cooperation 1 Year Education Programs.

The Bandung STTT Polytechnic as a polytechnic specializing in the textile sector has the main potential to produce human resources in the textile sector in applied undergraduate and applied master levels.

Even so, the need for Industrial Human Resources in the field of textiles and garment has not been fully met by graduates from the Bandung STTT Polytechnic.

Meanwhile, Head of the Center for Industrial Vocational Education Development (PPPVI) Emmy Suryandari said this was due to the limited number of STTT Polytechnic graduates, in accordance with the student capacity every year, even though the need for graduates was 500 people.

Emmy is optimistic that graduates of the Bandung STTT Polytechnic are generally able to fill important positions in the textile industry as supervisors in the textile industry.

"In the future, we hope that the Bandung STTT Polytechnic can increase student capacity so that it can meet industrial needs," he said.

The average number of graduates on time for the Bandung STTT Polytechnic for all strata is 91.78 percent with the implementation of the dual system education system in the Applied Bachelor Program and the 1-year Education Program for Industrial Cooperation, as well as 100 percent of graduates with a waiting time for graduates of less than seven months, which means that the target of TAPKIN 2022 for the absorption of graduates is achieved.

It is known that in 2023, as many as 137 graduates or as many as 44.50 percent of graduates will receive the title with praise consisting of two graduates of the RTA Applied Masters Program, 48 graduates of the Textile Engineering Study Program, 42 graduates from the Textile Chemical Study Program, 21 graduates from the Garmen Production Program, and 24 graduates from the Fashion Design Concentration Garment Production Study Program.

The Bandung STTT Polytechnic has collaborated a lot with industry through the absorption of graduates, and at the Bandung STTT Polytechnic Graduation event in 2023, awards were also given to industrial partners as an appreciation for the cooperation that had been established.
