]JAKARTA - Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita asked internal supervisors to oversee the optimization of public services, in order to spur the performance of the national industry.

"It is my hope that the Government Internal Supervisory Apparatus (APIP) can supervise and oversee the optimization of public services, improve services, and improve integrity at the Ministry of Industry as one of the efforts to improve the domestic industry," said Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita in a written statement received by VOI, Thursday, November 23.

Minister of Industry Agus emphasized that all policies, programs, and services at the Ministry of Industry must continue to be encouraged to increase domestic production.

As an industry coach, he reminded his ministry to be agile and sensitive in producing strategic policies that can arouse enthusiasm for the industrial sector, in order to increase domestic economic growth and have high added value.

Therefore, the Inspectorate General has an important role as a support system in terms of internal supervision at the Ministry of Industry.

"I hope that in carrying out their duties, officials and all Ministry of Industry employees always comply with applicable regulations, maintain integrity, and also convince our stakeholders, namely the industrial world, that the Ministry of Industry supports the industry effectively and solutionly helps the problems faced in the field," said Agus.

Agus also reminded all APIPs in the Ministry of Industry to always maintain their integrity and competence so that they are qualified to work to oversee and assist priority programs and improve the performance of the Ministry of Industry.

"If there are indications of discrepancy or irregularities, they can be followed up immediately. I hope that APIP, especially auditors, can become trusted and strategic partners for work units so that supervision, both assurance and consulting can run effectively," he said.

Meanwhile, Inspector General of the Ministry of Industry Mohammad Rum reported that internal supervision carried out by the Inspectorate General in 2024 will focus on improving governance and information system for public services, increasing the implementation of risk management, monitoring of performance and policies of the industrial sector, as well as high-risk activities and accelerating the completion of follow-up results from internal and external supervision.

To achieve this target, broad internal surveillance activities will be carried out in three ways, namely quality assurance, consulting activities, and other supervision.

"This supervisory strategy is expected to minimize the findings from external examinations (BPK-RI), improve the performance of all Ministry of Industry satkers/work units in achieving the targets that have been set, and primarily improve service quality for stakeholders," he said.
