JAKARTA - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk has prepared cash worth IDR 25.2 trillion.
This is to support the convenience and smooth running of the community in transactions during the Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024 periods.
BRI Network and Service Director Andrijanto revealed that the prepared cash worth IDR 25.2 trillion in the Christmas and New Year period was recorded to be 5 percent lower than last year's realization which reached IDR 26.5 trillion.
"The money will be allocated Rp19.8 trillion for the needs of BRI's e-Channel machines in the form of ATM & CRM, while the remaining Rp5.4 trillion is allocated to the BRI Branch Office," Andrijanto told reporters, Monday, November 20.
The decrease in cash demand, he said, is in line with customer transaction preferences that shift to digital transactions or cashlessly.
This can be seen from the significant increase in transaction migration to digital.
The provision of BRI digital-based services has been able to integrate transactions that were previously carried out conventionally by workers in the banking hall.
"About 99 percent has been carried out through digital-based services, both through e-channels and digital platforms owned by BRI. While the rest, or 1 percent of transactions are carried out conventionally at the BRI Office," he explained.

BRImo users until the end of October 2023 have reached 30.4 million users (an increase of 30 percent yoy) with a transaction volume of IDR 3,353 trillion, an increase of 60.8 percent yoy.
