JAKARTA - PT Astra Toll Nusantara (Astra Infra) expressed its support for the government's plan to test the contactless toll transaction system or Multi Lane Free Flow (MLFF) in Bali in the second week of December 2023.
Astra Infra Group Chief Operating Officer (COO) Billy Perkasa Kadar said this transaction system is one of the best things for the toll road industry.
"That, right, one very fundamental change in the operation of toll roads and MLFF is also one thing that is fundamental and very helpful. For this reason, Astra Infra will always support it," Billy said at the Astra Industrial Journalists Workshop in Jakarta, Friday, November 17.
Billy said that the MLFF transaction system is one of the very fundamental changes in the operation of toll roads.
"Astra Infra will definitely do its best to ensure that this MLFF can be applied on our toll roads," he said.
He added that his party was very enthusiastic to find out the results of the MLFF trial later.
"Of course we are very enthusiastic to see the results and we are ready to implement the MLFF when the technology and its implementation have been certified or approved by the Ministry of PUPR, in this case the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT). So, we are very supportive," he added.
Previously reported, the Ministry of PUPR ensured that the trial of the contactless non-cash toll transaction system or Multi Lane Free Flow (MLFF) in Bali would be carried out in the second week of December 2023.
"Yes, (MLFF trial) is around the second week of December," said PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono after being met at the Hunindotech 4.0 event at The Westin Hotel, Jakarta, Tuesday, November 14.
Basuki said, after the trial was carried out, it would be evaluated about two weeks later.
Then, if the evaluation shows good results, then the MLFF trial is expanded.
"So, after the trial, we will evaluate it for two weeks. At the end of December we will evaluate it, if it is good and successful we will expand it. I remind you that changes from cash payments to non-cash payments through tapping e-toll cards have challenges," he said.
