There Is A Coldplay Concert, The Number Of Passengers At Gambir Station Increases By 30 Percent

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI noted an increase in passenger volume at Gambir Station, Central Jakarta, ahead of the Coldplay band concert, today. It was recorded that long-distance train passengers increased by 30 percent.

KAI's VP of Public Relations Joni Martinus said that in the period from November 14 to 15, 2023, 15,687 long-distance train passengers arrived at Gambir Station. This number increased by 30 percent compared to last week's period from 7 to 8 November 2023 as many as 12,033 passengers.

"We are committed to continuing to serve customers who use trains for various purposes, one of which is to watch the Coldplay concert. It is hoped that people will continue to use trains as safe, comfortable, and traffic-free mass transportation and on time," he said in Jakarta, Wednesday, November 15.

Furthermore, Joni said that visitors to the concert could also use a commuter line to go to the location of the event, namely the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (GBK).

"There are 3 nearest commuter line stations, namely Palmerah Station, Karet Station, and Sudirman Station," he said.

As of Wednesday 15 November, KAI noted that train tickets for the Christmas and New Year holidays are still available. A total of 232,574 train tickets have been sold, from 1,182,968 tickets provided for the period 21 to 30 December 2023.

Meanwhile, KAI has determined that the Christmas and New Year's Transport (Nataru) will take place from December 21, 2023 to January 7, 2024.

The number will continue to increase because sales are still ongoing. People can immediately book tickets because the Nataru River train ticket is still quite widely available," said Joni.

The KA-KAs that have become favorites for Nataru Transportation so far include the Pasarsenen-Purwosari pp connection Bengawan train, Airlangga train Pasarsenen-Surabaya Pasarturi pp relation, Kahuripan train Kiaracondong-Blitar pp connection, Pasarsenen-Purwokerto pp connection, and others.
