JAKARTA - Pertamina New & Renewable Energy (Pertamina NRE) has hooked up PT VKTR Mobility Technology Tbk (VKTR) to pioneer sustainable mobility solutions for public transportation in Indonesia.
This partnership, which was inaugurated through Letter of Interest to the US International Development Finance Corporation (US DFC), is a strategic effort to achieve Net Zero Indonesia's emission target by 2060.
VKTR CEO, Gilarsi W. Setijono said, with a bus population of more than 260,000, Indonesia presents a great opportunity for the penetration of electric vehicle buses. This partnership introduces an innovative e-MaaS (electric Mobility as a Service) model, offers flexible financing for the operation and maintenance of electric vehicle buses, thereby reducing dependence on government funding.
"Combination of our expertise in electrification of public transportation and renewable energy has uniquely placed us in charge of transformative solutions in Indonesia. We are committed to facilitating comprehensive electric vehicle infrastructure, the transition from the CAPEX model to OPEX, and making a big contribution to the Indonesian economy," he said in a statement to the media, Wednesday, November 15.
