Up 25 Percent, AP I Serves 6 Million Passengers

JAKARTA PT Angkasa Pura I (AP I) recorded that it had served 6,081,648 passenger movements in the October 2023 period. When compared to the movement of passengers for the October 2022 period which reached 4,874,232 passengers, there was a growth of 25 percent.

AP I President Director Faik Fahmi said the number of passenger movements in October 2023 which reached 6,081,648 passengers was divided into 4,707,827 passengers on domestic routes and 1,373,821 passengers on international routes.

This is shown through the number of passengers who grew significantly compared to the same period last year," he said in an official statement, Tuesday, November 14.

Faik said the movement of aircraft and cargo movements in October 2023 also experienced growth. Where for aircraft movements, 15 AP I airports have served 49,275 movements in October 2023, or grew by 1 percent compared to the October 2022 period with 48,734 aircraft movements.

"As for cargo movement, 42,776 tons of cargo have been served throughout October 2023, growing 6 percent compared to the October 2022 cargo movement which reached 40,508 tons of cargo," he said.

15 AP I Airports Have Served 57.8 Million Passengers

Faik said that with the additional number of passenger movements during October, the cumulative AP I had served 57,874,582 passenger movements during the period January to October 2023.

"This number has increased by 39 percent compared to the movement of passengers for the same period in 2022 which reached 41,801,388 passengers," he said.

With the number of passenger movements from January to October 2023 which reached 57.8 million passengers, continued Faik, the recovery rate compared to the same period in 2019 reached 87 percent.

"Of course this shows that AP1's operational performance is on a good track towards a full recovery target next year," he said.

Faik said he was optimistic that the target number of passenger movements set, which was 70 million passengers, could be achieved by the end of the year.

"At the end of the year there will be a festive period, namely the Christmas holiday which is projected to be sufficient to control traffic at AP1 airports," he said.
