JAKARTA - PT Surveyor Indonesia (PTSI) has completed halal certification of 248 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) assisted by PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. Telkom runs this free halal certification program through Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) activities.

PTSI's Commercial Director, Saifuddin Wijaya, said the halal certification program was financed by Telkom. Thus, MSME actors do not need to pay for the halal certification.

Furthermore, Saifuddin said this would be the second year that his party received a share to certify halal products from Telkom's fostered UMK. In tahuno, there were 249 products certified.

"Thank you to Telkom. Last year 249, now it has dropped one, 248. But God willing, in the future it can meet the government's target," said Saifuddin at Graha Surveyor, Jakarta, Tuesday, November 14.

Furthermore, Saifuddin said, overall there were 62,000 MSME partners fostered by Telkom MSME Houses spread across Indonesia which were selected by the Telkom BUMN House. After that, halal verification was carried out by the PTSI Halal Audit Institute (LPH) and as many as 248 MSMEs passed the free halal certificate.

"This is combed out of the 62,000, then this year is 248, that is included in the criteria and there is a financing target allocated. God willing, next year it can be even bigger and can increase the number of SME industries that can be certified halal," he said.

Saifuddin explained that the halal certification process had started in March 2023 and was completed in November 2023. This means that the process will run for 8 months.

"From March 2023 and finished, there is a process of socializing awareness on how to manage the halal context and then verify it, then until the certification process by us is ratified by BPJPH," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of LPH PTSI Afrinal explained that halal certificates were issued mostly for food and beverage products. However, he said, there are also cosmetic products, as well as the production of oil fats and emulsion.

"The products are food and drinks, cosmetics, drinks, household supplies," said Afrinal.
