This Is The Driving Sector For Indonesia's Economic Growth In The Third Quarter Of 2023

JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded that the manufacturing or processing industry contributed 1.06 percent year on year (yoy) and became the largest source for Indonesia's economic growth in the third quarter of 2023.

Plt. Head of BPS Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti said that based on the business field, the processing industry was the highest source of growth of 1.06 percent.

"In the third quarter of 2023, the processing industry became the highest source of growth, at 1.06," he said at a press conference for GDP Quarter III-2023, Monday, November 7.

Amalia explained, in addition to the manufacturing sector which was the driving force for economic growth in the third quarter of 2023, there were also several supporting sectors such as the trade sector with a source of 0.66 percent growth, the transportation and warehousing sector by 0.61 percent and the construction sector by 0.60 percent.

Furthermore, the sector with the highest growth in the third quarter of 2023 compared to the third quarter of 2022, namely the transportation and warehousing sector which rose 14.74 percent, other services grew 11.14 percent, as well as accommodation and food and drink which rose 10.90 percent.

BPS announced that Indonesia's economic growth was recorded at 4.94 percent on an annual basis and quarterly growth was 1.60 percent quarter to quarter (qoq).
