Kemenkop UKM Calls Packaging Houses Able To Increase MSME Actors Turnover

JAKARTA - Secretary of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs (SeskemenKop UKM) Arif R Hakim said that the packaged house that was immediately installed and operated at the Subang PLUT-KUMKM could increase the turnover of MSME actors.

"In addition, this packaged house can be socialized so that it can be used together, and maintained so that it can be used according to its operational period," Arif said in a written statement, quoted on Saturday, November 4.

Arif said that Rumah Kemasan is a facility and service provided through PLUT-KUMKM in the form of training, assistance, and facilitation related to product packaging.

In addition to comfortable places and locations, the price of the service set is also not expensive because this will be managed by the Public Service Agency (BLU) so that it can serve and facilitate MSME players on an ongoing basis.

Therefore, the price or services set by this Rumah Kemasan must be affordable for MSME actors. The goal is that the operation of this Packaging House can reach the break event point (BEP) and can continue to serve MSME actors to improve the quality of the design and packaging of their products.

In the future, said Arif, Packaging Houses must be improved according to the needs of MSMEs, such as services in making packaging cans or drinks and at least now they can produce packaging according to the needs of MSME actors.

"We are grateful to the Subang Regency Government, which together with the Kemenkop UKM continue to strive to improve the quality of MSME products, especially in Subang," he said.

Sandi, one of the Subang KUMKM PLUT Companion Consultants, said that a number of materials taught in this Packaging House include labeling standard materials, knowing simple packaging tools, making packaging from simple products, knowing the cost of packaging production, such as stickers, to standing vouchers.

"We have carried out market tests on Johor Bahru, Malaysia, where several MSME Subang products have used new packaging to be accepted there, such as banana chips or banana chips, or brands that are packaged into rice crackers," he said.
