Regarding The Rules For The Prohibition Of Imports That Have Not Been Applicable, Minister Of Industry Agus: There Is An Addition Of Commodities

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) has opened its voice regarding the enactment of regulations on the prohibition of limited imports or imports, which have not yet been implemented.

Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said his party had proposed several additional commodities to be included in the revision of the Minister of Trade Regulation (Permendag) Number 25 of 2022 concerning Import Policy and Regulation by changing the regulation of import trade from post border to border for eight commodities.

"Of the 8 commodities that have been determined with the president at the meeting, we propose several additional commodities because basically, right, those who know the condition of our industry," said Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita in response to VOI questions at the Ministry of Industry Building, Jakarta, Thursday, November 2.

Minister of Industry Agus did not deny that many industrial sectors were affected by the flood of imported products. However, he could not explain in detail the names of the industrial sector.

"There are many additions (commodities), basically what we see is that they (industry) are heavily affected by imported floods. The industries are of various kinds, not in one particular sector, three of which are the battery, valve and rock wool industries," said Agus.

If, the three industrial sectors have been included in the addition of commodities that are prohibited from imported products, Agus said, the regulation on import lartas will soon be enforced.

"So, we have proposed several additionals to enter the 8 other commodities to enter there, and that has been in principle approved and later we just have to follow up with the Ministry of Trade to add what we propose," he concluded.

For your information, steps to tighten the flow of import goods are carried out through the revision of the Minister of Trade Regulation (Permendag) Number 25 of 2022 concerning Import Policy and Regulation by changing the regulation of import trading from post-border to border for eight commodities.

A total of 8 commodities are bags, electronics, traditional medicines and health supplements, cosmetics, textiles have become others, children's toys, footwear, and finished clothes.
