Telkom Prepares 86 Signal Strengthening Points To Support U-17 World Cup

PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) Group has prepared 86 signal booster points, one Base Transceiver Station (BTS) tower that has been installed and two Compact Mobile BTS (Combat) to support the U-17 World Cup, at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (GBT) Surabaya, East Java.

Executive Vice President of Government Services PT Telkom Syaifuddin when met by reporters after reviewing the GBT Stadium with the General Chair of the All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) Erick Thohir and the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Dito Ariotedjo, in Surabaya, Sunday, October 29, said that in terms of capacity and internet speed it needed was adequate for all those in the stadium during the U-17 World Cup.

"We make sure that all the needs at that point are currently sufficient capacity, this is our experience in organizing international events," he said, as reported by Antara.

In addition to adequate internet networks for viewers, invites, officials and even players, he said, for the mass media it would also be sufficient.

"The capacity in the media center is at least around 30 Mbps, both in the stands and in the media center, even above 100 MB is also ready," he said.

In addition, he said, for those who use connectivity via cable, it can reach one giga byte per second (Gbps).

Not only in stadiums or surrounding areas, his party also ensures that together with Telkomsel, it meets the needs of tourists, both local and foreign, who want to watch the U-17 World Cup match in Surabaya, and even other cities.

"We make sure with friends in Telkomsel, hotels, station arrivals, airports to training field areas. Friends from Telkomsel ensure the signal there is quite good, and the speed is also good enough to communicate at these places," he said.

Therefore, he said, his party will also anticipate if there is a spectator density that will slow down internet network signals.

"We make sure all of that can be covered, if there are 46 thousand users inside, and up to 17 thousand users, our signal is still strong to serve," he said again.

He believes that with the support from various parties, especially the Telkom Group, they can be ready to host the Indonesia U-17 World Cup.
