JAKARTA - PT Vale Indonesia Tbk (INCO) recorded nickel production growth from January to September 2023 of 18 percent.

During that period INCO managed to produce nickel in burlap by 17,953 metric tons.

CEO and President Director of INCO, Febriany Eddy said, through this achievement, his party is optimistic that it can achieve the full year production target by 2023 of 70,000 tons.

"This positive result is related to the maintenance strategy that has been implemented previously," he said in a statement to the media, Wednesday, October 18.

He detailed, in the third quarter of 2023, INCO managed to produce 17,953 tons of nickel in MONEY, an increase of 2.5 percent from the production in the third quarter of the previous year which was recorded at 17,513 tons of nickelcurrency.

The realization also increased by 6 percent from production in the second quarter of 2023 which was recorded at 16,922 tons of nickel waste.

Febriany added that the planned large-scale maintenance activities were completed in the first half of 2023.

Combined with the reliability of the company's assets, he said, this contributed to an increase in production by 6 percent in the third quarter of 2023 compared to the previous quarter.

"Compared to production in nine months in 2022, production in the same period in 2023 showed growth of around 18 percent. This increase could not be separated from the successful return of Furnace 4 to its optimal performance after undergoing rebuilding last year," concluded Febriany.
