PLN Warns Customers Not To Disturb Electricity Meters

JAKARTA - PLN Jakarta Raya's Main Distribution Unit (UID) continues to ensure that electricity distributed to customers' homes is safe and reliable.

In accordance with Law Number 30 of 2009 concerning electricity, PLN has the authority to flow electricity from the generator to kWh meter at the customer's house.

General Manager of PLN UID Jakarta Raya Lasiran said that according to the limits of this authority, his party ensures that electricity up to kWh meter PLN is safe and harmless.

"The authority and responsibility of the PLN is up to kWh meter, so the kWh meter belongs to PLN and routinely PLN checks the kWh meter to ensure that the kWh meter is normal as part of protecting the safety of the customer itself," said Lasiran in a written statement Sunday, October 15.

PLN customers are prohibited from engaging in kWh meter athik, starting from removing the seal, replacing the circuit barrier meter (MCB), let alone replacing the KWh meter PLN installed in the customer's house.

If there is a disturbance in the kWh meter, customers can contact PLN through the PLN Mobile application for checking.

To ensure that customers avoid the danger of electricity due to using kWh meter attik, PLN carries out a program to control the use of electricity (P2TL), where PLN checks kWh meter and PLN's electricity network installed in customer homes.

This check is also carried out to ensure kWh meter works normally.

The Kwh meter that runs normally functions as a barrier and a gauge for electric currents entering the house.

If the electricity that enters the house exceeds capacity, the danger of electricity such as short circuits can occur and result in fatal to a fire.
