Consistently Run 5R Management In Operational Areas, GIS Wins Seven Awards From The East Java Manpower And Transmigration Office

JAKARTA - Thanks to the consistency of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) and its subsidiaries in implementing 5R management (Ringkas, Rapi, Resik, Rawat, dan, Rajin) in all operational aspects of the company, GIS received appreciation from the East Java Provincial Government (Pemprov).

At the 5R Inter-Corruption event in East Java in 2023 organized by the Manpower and Transmigration Office (Disnakertrans) of East Java Province, GIS and its subsidiaries won seven awards with two of them being the highest award (gold medyali).

The award for GIS was given by the Head of the East Java Manpower and Transmigration Service (Disnakertrans), Himawan Estu Bagijo to General Manager of Mining & Raw Material SIG, Suharyanto at the Mercure Grand Mirama Hotel, Surabaya, Tuesday 10 October.

The Productivity Award for the Between Companies 5R Competition is a form of appreciation to companies that implement the best 5R in East Java. There are five categories of areas that are competed, namely office areas, production areas, warehouse areas, workshop areas (workshops) and the environment. The auditor team and the jury are filled with productivity practitioners from other companies and institutions.

The seven awards that have been won include a gold medal for the category of the Environmental Area area given to the Tuban Factory GIS, a gold medal with the category of Office, Production and Wokshop for PT Cipta Nirmala (Semen Gresik Hospital), a silver medal with the category of Office area for PT Varia Usaha Beton, as well as four bronze medals with the category of Office area for PT Semen Indonesia Distributor, the category of Office area for PT Industri Kemasan Semen Gresik, the category of Production area for PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia (SBI) Tuban Factory, as well as the category of Office area for PT United Tractors Semen Gresik.

SIG Corporate Secretary, Vita Mahreyni said, GIS implements 5R management as part of the implementation of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) and increased operational excellence which contributes to effectiveness and efficiency to support work productivity and work safety and health (K3) throughout the company's operational areas.

"SIG has optimized operational and production activities, changes in business models in the management of distribution activities to optimize the GIS logistics ecosystem, as well as the implementation of digitalization in various business lines in a sustainable manner as an effort to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of operations. Apart from having an impact on zero accidents in operations, this has an impact on well-managed production costs amidst the general increase in costs," said Vita Mahreyni, in a written statement, quoted Friday, October 13.

Furthermore, Vita Mahreyni explained that the implementation of 5R management within the scope of GIS was achieved through structuring and maintenance of the work area in an effort to maintain order, efficiency, and discipline in work operations while improving the company's overall performance. This award is proof that the implementation of 5R management in the GIS operational area is running well.

"The implementation of 5R management in companies becomes the foundation for improving the quality and productivity of companies to create reliable work culture, building productive culture, and encouraging the company's competitiveness. High corporate productivity will contribute directly to economic development and strengthening, especially in this case in East Java Province," said Vita Mahreyni.
