Fast Trains Will Be Charged, Residents: IDR 250,000 Is Still Worth It

JAKARTA - The Jakarta Bandung Fast Train (KCJB) or Whoosh will later be subject to fares. Residents also think it is quite in line with the prices set.

PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) said the ticket price range will be around IDR 250,000 to IDR 350,000 for premium economy class.

Currently, the first mode of transportation in Indonesia is still undergoing trials through the Whoosh Experience program or has limited operations. This program aims to introduce this mode of transportation to the public.

So, how do residents respond to the price of high-speed train tickets?

Arik, a resident of Tegalluar, Bandung Regency, West Java, admitted that he had tried this mode of transportation twice. He got information about fast trains from his brother.

“If it's IDR 1 rupiah for the first time. Previously, trials were also carried out. "I found out the information from a brother who enjoys trains," he said when met at KCIC Tegalluar Station, Bandung Regency, written on Tuesday, October 10.

Arik admitted that he would still choose the fast train for his mobilization to the Jakarta area. According to him, the price charged of IDR 250,000 is still acceptable, especially with the speed of the distance provided.

"You can just go up again. For Bandung-Jakarta mobility with a time of 45 minutes, who doesn't want that. If you bring your own car, it hasn't been petrol, it hasn't been tolled, you'll be tired too. The price is also not much different. "I will still choose Whoosh," he said.

Likewise, Arwan Rosyadi believes that the ticket price set at IDR 250,000 is still quite attractive for users compared to the Argo Parahyangan Train.

"The price of a bicycle depends on the time taken because if you look at Argo Parahyangan for executives, it's Rp. 200,000 and for the economy here, it's Rp. 250,009, which is equivalent to an experience that is already equivalent to Argo Parahyangan executives," he said.

This Bekasi resident believes that the fast train ticket set at Rp. 300,000 is not enough to attract people's interest in using this form of transportation.

“In my opinion, it's not worth it. "If we take Argo Parahyangan for IDR 200,000 and this is IDR 300,000, that means adding half the price to that, it's not worth it," he said.
