The Labor Intensive Program Of The Ministry Of PUPR Absorbs 51,891 Workers As Of September 2023

The Directorate General (Ditjen) of Human Settlements of the Ministry of PUPR has allocated Rp2.2 trillion in funds for the Cash Labor Intensive Program (PKT) for settlements in 2023.

The program, which is spread across 5,394 locations with the target of absorbing 65,970 workers, is channeled through the development of people's infrastructure.

The people's infrastructure is like the Community-Based Drinking Water and Community-Based Sanitation Program (Pamsimas), Community-Based Sanitation (Sanimas), Support for Sanitation of Religious Education Institutions, including Islamic Boarding Schools, Waste Management Places. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (TPS3R), and Regional Socio-Economic Infrastructure Development (PISEW)

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said the PKT Program of the Ministry of PUPR was carried out through infrastructure development involving the community/local residents as development actors, especially small-scale infrastructure or simple jobs that did not require technology.

"The construction of labor-intensive infrastructure aims to create jobs and increase people's purchasing power, PKT also aims to distribute funds to villages/employees," Basuki said in a written statement, quoted Tuesday, October 3.

Based on data from the Directorate General of Human Settlements of the Ministry of PUPR until September 26, 2023, PKT's financial absorption in residential areas in 2023 has reached 81.95 percent of the total budget of IDR 2.2 trillion or IDR 1.8 trillion.

The amount of the budget has realized physical work reaching 68.61 percent with an absorption of 51,891 workers.

For details, the Pamsimas Program is distributed in 970 locations by absorbing 8,236 workers. Then, for Sanimas in 1,447 locations and has absorbed 14,950 workers with physical progress reaching 58.32 percent.

Another labor-intensive program in the field of settlements is the sanitation construction of Islamic boarding schools/religious education institutions spread across 1,397 locations in Indonesia.

This program activity includes the construction of MCK buildings consisting of toilets and toilets/toilets, ablution places, hand washing and washing clothes, as well as domestic wastewater treatment installations with a physical progress of 51.74 percent and absorbing 10,059 workers.

Then, the construction of TPS3R which in 2023 will be carried out in 217 locations with a budget of IDR 147 billion and a physical progress of 30.92 percent, and absorbs 1,464 workers.

The construction of TPS3R by involving the community is expected not only to reduce the quantity of waste from the source but also provide learning and direct practice to the community in waste management.

Finally, the PISEW Program, which in 2023 is targeted to reach 1,363 locations with a budget allocation of Rp670 billion for 22,381 workers.

The progress has now been carried out at 94.43 percent, spread across 916 locations with a workforce absorption of 17,182 people.
