The Government Is Worried That There Will Be Migration Of Users From Pertamax To Pertalite, Enough Quota?

JAKARTA - The government is worried about the migration of fuel oil (BBM) users from Pertamax to Pertalite due to the increase in the price of RON 92 fuel.

Director General (Dirjen) of Oil and Gas Tutuka Ariadji said it was possible for Pertamax users to switch to using Pertalite.

The reason is, the price difference between the two products reaches Rp. 4,000.

"If there is a possibility, but I don't think there are many in the number. But there is a possibility," said Tutuka who was met at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Building, Monday, October 2.

With the possibility of user migration, it is feared that Pertalite consumption will increase from its usual consumption.

Responding to this, Pertamina Patra Niaga's Corporate Secretary, Irto Ginting revealed that until August 2023, Pertamina Patra Niaga had distributed 19.8 million KL from a quota of 32.5 million KL for JBKP Pertalite.

"The quota for pertalite is still quite available, but once again it is hoped that consumers will continue to use non-subsidized fuel," said Irto when contacted by VOI, Monday, October 2.

Irto also hopes that consumers who use non-subsidized fuel will not migrate to Pertalite because this segment generally understands the need for fuel in accordance with the specifications of their vehicles.

Just so you know, PT Pertamina (Persero) adjusted the price of non-subsidized fuel oil (BBM) as of October 1, 2023.

There has been an increase in prices for fuel sold at Pertamina gas stations such as Pertamax, Pertamax Turbo, Dexlite, Pertamina Dex, and Pertamax Green 95.

For example, the price of Pertamax fuel has officially increased to Rp. 14,000 per liter from the September period which was sold for Rp. 13,300 per liter for the DKI Jakarta area.

Meanwhile, Pertamax Green 95 rose from IDR 15,000 per liter to IDR 16,000 per liter.

Meanwhile, Pertamax Turbo is now priced at IDR 16,600 per liter from the previous IDR 15,900 per liter.

Then, Dexlite from the previous Rp16,350 per liter to Rp17,200 per liter. Then, Pertamina Dex from Rp16,900 per liter to Rp17,900 per liter.

Meanwhile, for Pertalite type fuel, which is subsidized fuel, there is no price adjustment, aka no fixed increase of IDR 10,000 per liter.
