Pertamina Sustainable Energy Center At IKN Is Also Expected To Play A Role Like The Lemhannas For The EBT Sector

JAKARTA - Environmental economist IPB University Aceng Hidayat welcomed the development of the Pertamina Sustainable Energy Center (Resilient Energy Center) in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN).

In addition to supporting the Net Zero Emission (NZE) target of the Government of Indonesia, Aceng also hopes that the Sustainable Energy Center can play a bigger role. Among other things, carrying out cadres for prospective leaders of sustainable energy. "It must be supported, because this is where Pertamina Sustainable Energy Center is strategically located. Even in the future, it should also function as a sustainable leadership training center or a kind of Lemhannas for new and renewable energy (EBT). But in this case, specifically cadres of candidate leaders in the field of sustainable energy," said Aceng to the media, Wednesday, September 27.

The cadre, added Aceng, can target practitioners, candidates for leaders, and prospective officials in BUMN. This is important, because CEOs, prospective officials, ministerial candidates, candidates for members of the DPR, and so on, bring legislation and policies. So like it or not, they must have environmental insight.

"These cadres must receive a sustainability certificate. Pertamina is the leading sector," said Aceng.

But that's not all. Aceng also hopes that the Sustainable Energy Center can become an EBT research center and prepare superior human resources. In addition, of course, it is hoped that it can produce alternative EBT products.

Related to this, Aceng mentioned solar panels as the most likely to be produced, compared to the wind and so on.

"If you use outside technology, solar panels are expensive. It's time for Pertamina to work together, maybe with LEN Bandung to work together nationally to immediately make solar panels for domestic production," said Aceng.

Previously, PT Pertamina (Persero) indeed collaborated with the Archipelago Capital Authority (OIKN) to develop the Pertamina Sustainable Energy Center (Sustainable Energy Center) in the Capital City of the Archipelago (IKN). The cooperation was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) of Pertamina with OIKN at the IKN construction site, Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan, last weekend.

The Pertamina Sustainable Energy Center area will be equipped with a number of facilities, including Pertamina Sustainability Academy, Pertamina Training Institute, and Pertamina Research and Innovation Center for Sustainable and Low Carbon Technologies, Pertamina Vocal Education Center, Shared Green Infrastructure, Laboratory, and Sustainability Start-up Hub.
