JAKARTA The Indonesian Export Financing Agency (LPEI) or Indonesia Eximbank is said to have succeeded in expanding the Special Export Assignment (PKE) program for SMEs in Surakarta and its surroundings with a total financing limit of IDR 495 billion as of August 2023.

LPEI's Managing Director for Business Development Maqin Norhadi said this facility targets export-oriented business actors.

"Not only in the form of financing but we also provide export insurance facilities such as credit insurance and marine cargo insurance as well as credit insurance facilities and projects which are one of the efforts so that LPEI is also present as a credit influencer for business actors including export-oriented SMEs," he said in a written statement quoted on Tuesday, September 26.

According to Maqin, the PKE Program also aims to encourage sustainable economic growth and have a positive impact on all export-oriented businesses in this region.

"Through PKE, we help business actors overcome the obstacles faced, including the difficulty of export financing, export guarantees and insurance. With enthusiasm and hard work, Indonesia's export potential will continue to shine in the global market," he said.

For information, the Special Export Assignment (PKE) program was launched based on Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) No. 134/PMK.08/2015 which was then updated with the latest PMK through PMK No. 183/PMK.08/2021.

Until now, the PKE program has become a solution for many export-oriented business actors, including for export-oriented SMEs.

One of the concrete manifestations of the government's alignment with export-oriented SMEs is through the PKE UKM program and the PKE Trade Finance program that has been distributed by LPEI and is quite massively utilized by national business actors.

"The top three leading export commodities in Surakarta include furniture, wood and wood products, as well as textiles and textile products," he concluded.
