KKP Strategy To Develop Indonesian Maritime And Fisheries Human Resources

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) cooperates with seven partners to develop human resources (HR) for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.

"The relationship between partnerships and stakeholders is one of the determinants in the development of human resources," said Head of the Marine and Human Resources Research and Human Resources Agency (BRSDM) I Nyoman Radiarta as quoted from the official KKP website, Monday, September 25.

The seven partners are the Tulungagung Regency Government (Pemkab), Tanah Bumbu Regency Government, South Bengkulu Regency Government, North Konawe Regency Government, Indonesian Shrimp Club, Indonesian Marine Fish Cultivation Association, and PT. Multidaya Teknologi Nusantara (eFishery).

Nyoman also asked the Head of the Human Resources Development Counseling Agency (BPPSDM) to oversee the implementation of the cooperation in the hope that it could motivate every human resource in their respective work units to actively collaborate.

"The success of the BPPSDM and Smart Fisheries Village (SFV) programs also rests on collaboration. I hope that the joint commitment, both internal BPPSDM and local governments, will continue to establish good communication to make this program a success. If there are obstacles, immediately identify and find a way out," he said.

To date, there are more than 200 collaborations at BPPSDM with a number of parties, both domestic and foreign. The types of cooperation are also diverse, ranging from local governments to government (G to G) with a number of countries, such as Japan, Korea, the United States, and Australia.

In addition, there is cooperation in implementing arrangements and memorandum of understanding (MoU) with universities, partnerships with the private sector, and Non-Government Organization (NGO).

According to Nyoman, this collaboration has the potential to be utilized because it has a comparative seed that can be adopted in improving training and counseling education services, developing curriculum, Transing of Trainer (ToT) teaching systems, language skills, and links and match with industry to help graduate education units and so on.
