JAKARTA - PT Industri Jamu and Pharmacy Sido Muncul Tbk (SIDO) provided assistance to 100 children under five in Gianyar Regency, Bali, on Wednesday, September 20.

This assistance is worth a total of Rp. 200 million, so that each recipient will receive a total assistance of Rp. 2 million. The scheme, each beneficiary toddler receives assistance in the form of cash of Rp. 500 thousand per month for four months, from September to December 2023.

Director of Sido Muncul, Irwan Hidayat, quoted from the stunting.go.id page, said that his party is trying to help the government by contributing according to the company's capabilities and capacity. This assistance will continue to be carried out in different places and its value is adjusted to the situation and conditions.

According to him, the problem of stunting really requires the attention of various parties, because stunting is a barrier to Indonesia's progress, which is preparing itself for a demographic bonus.

"If the generation is a healthy, quality generation, it will have a big impact," said Irwan Hidayat when handing over aid at Ari Canti Hospital, Ubud, Gianyar, Bali.

According to Irwan Hidayat, his party will ask for a report on the progress of the assisted children, because his party is also working with Ari Canti Hospital. This report is considered important to know the benefits that can be learned by the community so that it becomes an evaluation for this program.

In 2023, Sido Muncul has held three aids. First in Jakarta, then in Semarang, and the third in Bali.

For this event in Bali, Sido Muncul collaborated with Ari Canti Hospital so that his activities would bring maximum benefits. Because in addition to cash assistance, the parents of these 100 children will be given education and training related to parenting and nutrition patterns.

The health team provided by the hospital will also regularly monitor developments and check the children's health for free. Assistance accompanied by training and monitoring is expected to empower parents of toddlers to have a pattern of care and nutrition independently.

Secretary of the Gianyar District Health Office, Made Arisani, hopes that this program can be imitated by other companies in Indonesia. The problem of stunting is not only the responsibility of the government, but also the community.

"This momentum shows that the collaboration between the government and the private sector in order to accelerate stunting reduction has been going well even though private involvement needs to be increased again," said Made.
