NUSA Dua - Minister of Investment or Head of the Investment and Investment Agency (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia straightened out the news that said the people of Rempang would be relocated. Bahlil emphasized that the people of Pulau Rempang would only be shifted.

"It's not a relocation because from Rempang to Galang it's a different island relocation. But if it's from Rempang to Rempang, it's not a shift. We have shifted their village, which is some villages, to one village but is still in Rempang," Bahlil told the media on the sidelines of the 4th International Convention on Indonesian Upstream Oil and Gas Industry 2023 (ICIUOG) activity in Nusa Dua Bali, Wednesday, September 20.

According to him, the decision to shift has been agreed upon by the people who live in the area. The shift was also a suggestion from the community who asked Bahlil directly when he visited Rempang with the Minister of ATR/BPN Jadi Tjahjanto.

"They want the investment to enter the shift not to leave the Rempang. At first they wanted to be placed on Galang Island," Bahlil added.

Regarding the preparation of land for shifting residential areas, Bahlil stated that the government will prepare new housing for 700 families affected by investment development in the first phase. The house will be built within 6 to 7 months. While waiting for construction time, residents will be given facilities in the form of money and temporary shelter.

First, the government has prepared a land area of 500 square meters per head of the family. The second is a house with type 45 whose value is approximately Rp. 120 million. And the third is the transition waiting money until the house is finished, each person is Rp. 1.2 million and the cost of renting a house is Rp. 1.2 million. This includes planting growth, fish cages, and canoeing in the sea. All of this will be valued proportionally according to the mechanism and basis of the calculation. So rest assured that we the government also has a heart," concluded Bahlil.
