JAKARTA - Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta) has served 54 very very important flights (VVIP) for the head of state and the delegation of the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Jakarta.

PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) or AP II as the manager of Soetta Airport stated that all VVIP flights were running smoothly and well.

"The flight of heads of state and delegates went smoothly and well thanks to collaboration from all parties starting from AP II as the airport operator, ground handling party, AirNav Indonesia and fully supported by the Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of SOEs. We are very grateful that Soekarno-Hatta Airport can support the implementation of the 43rd ASEAN Summit," said AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin in a written statement, Sunday, September 10, confiscated by Antara.

AP II also expressed its gratitude to the public, airplane passengers, visitors and all parties for their support for Soetta Airport in serving flights to the 43rd ASEAN Summit.

He also said that the VVIP flight did not have much impact on scheduled regular flights.

"The operation plan that has been prepared by AP II is the key so that all flights at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, both state and regular flights can operate smoothly," he said.

Meanwhile, AP II Director of Operations Wendo Asrul Rose explained that the operational plan set by AP II includes arrangements for aircraft lanes while on land as well as the location for aircraft parking and the location of the aircraft staying over night (RON).

"All resources at Soekarno-Hatta Airport are able to carry out operational plans well, supported by the full collaboration of all parties carried out through the Airport Operation Control Center (AOCC) and also the post at Terminal 3," said Wendo.

As for the aircraft that are staying overnight, AP II has prepared 15 parking stands to accommodate eight wide-body aircraft (wide body) and seven medium-bodied aircraft (narrow body).

"In addition, AP II has also prepared Kertajati Airport as the location for the stay of one aircraft unit," he said.

On the other hand, all air side facilities such as runways, taxiways, and aprons can be used optimally so that all VVIP flights and regular flights can operate properly and smoothly.

He also said that there was no scheduled regular flight closure at Soetta Airport during the VVIP flight related to the 43rd ASEAN Summit.

"Regular flights continue to operate to serve the community. On September 4-8 when there was a VVIP flight, regular flight slot utilization was the same as normal conditions, namely consistent around 900 flights per day, even on September 8 it reached 952 flights," said Wendo.
