JAKARTA - PT Perta Arun Gas (PAG), a subsidiary of PT Pertamina Gas, signed a Development Cooperation Agreement (DCA) with fire energy Capital Pte Ltd., Singapore (AEC). This signing is related to the development, development and operation of Blue OKalia processing facilities located in the Arun Lhokseumawe Special Economic Zone (KEKAL).

Marked by the President Director of PAG, Bara Ilmarosa and Managing Director of ARC, Dr. Muthu Chezhian, DCA is the result of the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between PAG and AEC in January 2023 related to the exploration of gas development and large energy.

In his remarks, Bara said that Blue Amongia's production capacity is planned to produce 600,000 tons per year.

"The development of Blue Amongia is the first in Asia on a large scale, and is supported by local carbon capture and storage (CCS) that utilizes Arun reservoir," he said in a statement to the media, Wednesday, August 30.

Furthermore, Bara said that this project is planned to be produced in mid-2028.

According to Bara, the signing of the DCA is very important, which will be able to develop the company's business related to the need for clean energy and decarbonization targets.

"We hope that this project will be optimally affected by infrastructure facilities located in the Lhokseumawe SEZ," he added.

Bara further explained that the availability of CO2 is one of the factors in providing great benefits to the regions, especially for the Arun Lhokseumawe Special Economic Zone (Special Economic Zone Arun Lhokseumawe).

"PAG and AEC are expected to cooperate and establish good relations in the future," said Bara.

Located strategically in Lhokseumawe, Aceh Province and near the Malacca Strait route which is an international shipping route and ex-Kilang Arun facility covering an area of 1,400 ha which is part of a special economic zone (KEKAL), PAG provides its best efforts to become an environmentally friendly regasification company and LNG Hub in central Asia by 2030.
