JAKARTA - Through the World Water Council (WWC) General Assembly, March 19, 2022 in Dakar, Senegal, Indonesia has been selected to host the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) of 2024. The 10th WWF peak activity will be held in Bali on May 18-24, 2024.

Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono said he would carry cooperation in managing the lake in the world forum.

"Indonesia in this case also acts as one of the countries that proposes cooperation in the management of lakes, especially with the proposed determination of World Lake Day as one of the resolutions of the UN General Assembly," Basuki said in his statement in Jakarta, Saturday.

In his meeting with the United Nations Economics Commission for Europe (UNECE), Basuki expressed his gratitude for the support of UNECE and the UN Water Convention Secretariat in the 10th World Water Forum thematic process in Bali.

On this occasion, Basuki also invited UNECE to be the regional process coordinator for the European continent in preparation for the 10th World Water Forum meeting in Bali in 2024.

In preparation for the 10th World Water Forum in Bali in 2024, Basuki Hadimuljono held a meeting with partners in the Water Resources (SDA) including the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the Swiss Government which are relevant to discussing water issues through bilateral and multilateral cooperation in Geneva, Switzerland.

This meeting was also a precursor to the Briefing Session WWF-10 in Palais 30 August 2023 by the Indonesian Permanent Representative to the United Nations and the International Agency or PTRI Geneva.

Basuki said the peak event of the 10th World Water Forum in Bali will take place in less than a year, namely on May 18-24, 2024.

In the near future the Indonesian Government will hold the 2nd Stakeholder Consultation Meeting (SCM) on October 12-13, 2023 in Bali.

"We are targeting as many as 800 participants from national and international to attend the meeting. This meeting will discuss the issue of the latest water on the development of the Political, Regional/Regional and Thematic processes. In addition, there will also be a formation of a working group and discussion of the forum agenda.
