JAKARTA - Head of the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) Dwi Soetjipto revealed that the cooperation contract contractor (KKKS) of Sumbagut contributed 31 percent to the national oil lifting.

"Even for oil lifting until the first half of 2023, the cooperation contract contractor (KKKS) Sumbagut contributed 31 percent of the national oil lifting," Dwi told the media Monday, July 24.

For this reason, continued Dwi, SKK Migas continues to maintain and optimize oil and gas production in Sumbagut to support the achievement of long-term targets, namely oil production of 1 million barrels per day (BOPD) and gas of 12 billion cubic feet per day (BSCFD) in 2030.

On the same occasion SKK Migas also carried out management walks through (MWT) visiting the Project Booster Plant (BCP) Seng which is located in Muara Sako Hamlet, Langgam District, Pelalawan Regency, Riau. The activity aims to encourage an increase in gas production in the working area operated by EMP Bentu as the largest gas producer in the North Sumatra region (Sumbagut).

Dwi also expressed his appreciation for EMP's performance in supporting national oil and gas production targets.

As a national oil and gas company, the programs carried out by EMP can be an example in carrying out activities to support increased national oil and gas production.

"We hope that in the second half of 2023, EMP can carry out the best effort so that the hope is of course not only to reach the target, but to exceed the target set so that in 2023 which has been declared a turn around for national oil and gas production can be realized," added Dwi.

Dwi further said that the contribution of EMP gas production in the Sumbagut region was very dominant because until June 2023 as much as 58 percent of gas production came from EMP.

Therefore, Dwi hopes that the project booster plant (BCP) of Seng can maintain the performance of EMP gas production in the future.

GM EMP Bentu Limited Tri Firmanto said that the construction of the BCP Seng which is targeted to be completed in Q4 in 2023 is one of the efforts to increase the production of EMP Bentu Limited gas and maintain a production plateau of 105 Million Standard Cubic Feets per Day (MMSCFD) to meet electricity and industrial needs in the central part of Sumatra.

"Please support SKK Migas and pray for all parties so that this project can be completed on time so that it can maximize the supply of gas production from wells operated by EMP Bentu," said Tri Firmanto.
