JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo inaugurated the Cipali-Sumedang-Dawuan (Cisumdawu) toll road, Tuesday, July 11.

Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono revealed that the presence of the Cisumdawu Toll Road, a trip from Cileunyi to Cipali only took 40 minutes.

"This is now only 40 minutes from the tip of Cileunyi to Cipali. If you walk on this toll road, it's at least 80 km per hour," Basuki told reporters, Tuesday.

Basuki added that the Cisumdawu Toll Road will connect Cipali with Kertajati Airport located in Majalengka Regency, West Java.

For people who want to go to Cirebon during the Christmas and New Year holidays, they can pass the Cisumdawu Toll Road without having to go through the Cikampek and Cipali areas.

"So, for example, when Nataru was in Bandung, if you want to go to Cirebon, you don't go through Cipali again, you'll be here right away," continued Basuki.

Regarding tariffs, he continued, the price charged to road users is IDR 1,275 per kilometer (Km).

He admitted that the amount of the tariff was much cheaper than other toll roads.

This is because 50 percent of construction costs are provided by the government so that toll rates can be reduced.

"The tariff is approximately Rp. 1,275 per Km. It is much cheaper because there is a 50 percent construction loan," Basuki continued.

Later, after being inaugurated, the Cisumdawu Toll Road section 4-6 will be exempted from entry rates for the next two to three weeks.

"But it depends on the Minimum Service Standard (SPM). I ask for this to be checked first," concluded Basuki.

Just so you know, the Cisumdawu Toll Road was built under a cooperation scheme between the Government and Business Entities (KPBU) by costing Rp18.3 trillion of construction, which was financed Rp9.07 trillion by the government.
