The Ministry Of Trade Takes Firm Action On The Sale Of Minya Kita With Bundling

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) takes firm action against anyone who sells Minya Kita if it is not in accordance with applicable regulations, including the bundling mechanism.

Acting Director General of Consumer Protection and Trade Order (PKTN) Moga Simatupang, said there are sanctions that are ready to be imposed on traders if caught red-handed selling in a bundling manner.

"We will be sanctioned, we will inform you later," said Moga when the Trade Expo Indonesia launch in Jakarta was reported by ANTARA, Monday, July 10.

Moga explained that the first sanction would be in the form of a written warning from PKTN. However, if traders are still playing cheating, a business license will be revoked.

Strict rules regarding the prohibition of selling Minya Kita with a bundling system are contained in Circular Letter No. 3 of 2023 concerning Sales of People's Cooking Oil.

Some time ago, Minya Kita's sales were found with a bundling system or selling several products that were packaged into one package.

In terms of Minya Kita, traders require consumers to buy other products in order to get Minya Kita.

Moga said traders were also prohibited from selling Minya Kita at a price above Rp. 14,000 per liter or Rp. 15,500. This applies to distributors 1 and 2 as well as retailers.

Meanwhile, the sale of Minya Kita can also be found on TikTok Shop. According to Moga, this clearly violates the regulations.

According to Moga, sales of "naughty" always change the keyword of selling Minya Kita so that it is not detected by the related security system.

However, Moga admitted that he had coordinated with the management of TikTok Shop and also the Indonesian E-commerce Association (iDea) to lower the account.

"What is clear is that we have collaborated for iDea for matters related to violating the laws or not in accordance with the rules and iDea in coordination with its members," said Moga.
