JAKARTA - PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) has realized capital expenditure (capex) of IDR 6.7 trillion until the first quarter of 2023. This amount increased compared to last year's IDR 4 trillion.

"From our total capex plan, until the first quarter of 2023 it was around IDR 6.7 trillion, this has increased compared to the same period last year of around IDR 4 trillion," said ASII Head of Corporate Investor Relations Tira Ardianti quoting Antara.

For 2023, Tira said the company plans to spend capital and investment will reach around IDR 40 trillion. "But, actually, the capex itself only spends around IDR 24 to IDR 25 trillion. That's our budget capex, which in 2022 is around IDR 27 trillion," said Tira.

He said the company has the potential to allocate investments to companies in the consumer sector, transportation & logistics, infrastructure, health, and New Renewable Energy (EBT).

"For investment, Astra certainly sees that there are two things, first, for businesses that currently exist, we will still invest to strengthen business cores, such as the automotive core business of Astra," said Tira.

Previously, at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS), the company decided to distribute a total dividend of IDR 25.09 trillion or equivalent to IDR 640 per share to ASII shareholders whose names were recorded in the shareholder register on May 8, 2023.
