JAKARTA - PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk. (BNI) is known to record an Macroprudential Inclusive Financing Ratio (RPIM) at 28.05 percent with total credit to the MSME sector of IDR 123 trillion as of June 2023.

BNI Retail Banking Director Putrama Wahju Setiawan said that the RPIM target for this year's entire year is 28.8 percent.

According to Putranma, the company is targeting total credit to the MSME sector this year to increase by 8 percent compared to 2022. Meanwhile, the strategy chosen is through financing focused on MSMEs with sustainable performance and ready to Go Global.

"Of course this is our commitment as a state-owned bank that continues to help the economic backbone sector, namely MSMEs. BNI will always be proactive in innovating in terms of products and programs to be able to increase the capacity and capability of Indonesian MSMEs," he said.

Putranma explained that the company is trying to improve the capabilities of MSMEs by providing convenience for them in accessing financing, both People's Business Credit (KUR) and Non-KUR.

Not only that, BNI also opens market access for MSMEs, especially those with export orientation, through BNI Xpora, where the program has a business matching diaspora special program, and assistance for improving business capabilities.

"Several MSMEs that are included in government programs include MSMEs in sustainable businesses (ESG) and the food security sector," he added.

Putrama also said that the company is trying to optimize MSME financing related to upstream and downstream industrial chains in line with government programs.

"In fact, the agricultural sector, BNI is actively helping the government develop MSMEs through the Millennial Smartfarming program, synergizing with the government and startups to introduce IoT to farmers," he concluded.
