JAKARTA - PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) ensures the readiness of all telecommunications infrastructure ahead of the 42nd ASEAN Summit (KTT) in Indonesia will soon take place and be held in Jakarta and Labuan Bajo.

Vice President of Corporate Communication Telkom Andri Herawan Sasoko said that not only is the readiness of telecommunications infrastructure for the ASEAN 2023 Summit, TelkomGroup also ensures the quality and safety of use throughout this international event.

"Telkom Group has prepared an entire main and supporting network to ensure the smooth communication and interaction of the participants of the Summit, so that they can carry out activities without problems and enjoy all the best experiences while in Indonesia," Andri said in a statement to the media, Tuesday, May 2.

He explained that one of the preparations made by TelkomGroup was to improve the quality and capacity of a number of Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) in Labuan Bajo. TelkomGroup also helps maintain the quality of fiber optic (FO)-based internet networks in Labuan Bajo.

In addition, TelkomGroup has placed various services to support the telecommunications needs of ASEAN's 42nd Summit participants since arriving at Komodo Airport to the location of the peak event at the Meruorah Hotel.

"The presence of various services can also be found in the activities areas of the delegates, guests, and the media covering the ASEAN 2023 Summit, namely Hotel Shagka, Hotel Bintang Flores, Mice Golo Mori, Plataran, to Puncak Waringin," explained Andri.

TelkomGroup infrastructure transportation preparations on the second route and main route feeder network have also reached 100 percent. In addition, Telkom Indonesia has provided BTS and additional BTS Combat to ensure the best connection during the conference.

"The readiness of cellular networks during the ASEAN 2023 Summit has been optimal. We ensure the Satellite News Gathering (SNG) for the mass media can operate without a hitch relying on TV pools from SEA Today," Andri continued.

He added that all operations and telecommunications during the ASEAN 2023 Summit were also strictly guarded, relying on the best systems and human resources whose processes were scaled up to the national level.

"We believe that the smooth communication and connectivity during the ASEAN 2023 Summit can add to Indonesia's positive record as the host and chairman of the event, thus strengthening the position of this country as a key and important actor in Southeast Asia," said Andri.

For information, the plan is that the 42nd ASEAN Summit will be attended by 11 heads of state from all ASEAN members and friendly countries. Delegations accompanying the heads of state are estimated at 550 people.
