JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono together with Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, and Head of the Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the National Police Inspector General Pol Firman Santyabudi visited the Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan (Cisumdawu) Toll Road in West Java, on Sunday, April 9.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said, after being opened functionally for the 2023 Lebaran homecoming, all of the Cisumdawu toll roads could be completed and will be fully operational by the end of May 2023.

"By May 2023, at the latest all Cisumdawu toll roads are operational, as well as to support the operation of Kertajati Airport," he said in a press statement, Monday, April 10.

Basuki said that this review was part of the coordination of preparations for the 2023 Eid homecoming flow, especially regarding the functional plan of the Cisumdawu Toll Road Section 4-Seksi 6 (Cimalaka-Dawuan) along 29.165 km.

Not only that, Minister Basuki also reviewed the readiness of the Cipali Toll Road which is connected to the Cisumdawu Toll Road, including the progress of the construction of a new Rest Area at KM 81 and the widening of the Cikampek KM 50-KM 66 Toll Road.

"The road widening on the Cipali Toll Road will be completed on April 12, 2023 and there will be a temporary Rest Area at KM 81, both on Line A and B with a capacity of around 125 cars equipped with mobile toilets, and will be ready on April 17, 2023," he explained.

Furthermore, he said, for traffic regulation when it is opened functionally, it will fully follow the direction of the Korlantas Polri.

"Whether contraflow, one way, or open and close will be applied, all of them will follow the direction of the Korlantas Polri according to conditions in the field with the simulations that have been prepared," added Basuki.

Meanwhile, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said, with the completion of the Cisumdawu Toll Road, it could later support Kertajati Airport which will start operating gradually after Lebaran 2023 for Umrah flights and Hajj services. "Kertajati Airport will become a new hub in West Java Province," he concluded.
