PLN Operates New SPKLU In Dumai Riau

PT PLN (Persero) added one location for the Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station (SPKLU) in Riau Province, precisely at the PLN Office of the Customer Service Implementation Unit (UP3) in Dumai City, Riau.

Head of the Energy and Mineral Resources Office of Riau Province Evarefita emphasized that the Riau Provincial Government continues to support PLN in presenting SPKLU.

The addition of this SPKLU, of course, can support the development of Dumai City as the main gateway in Sumatra with the largest port facility in Riau.

"The presence of SPKLU is a positive synergy between PLN and the Riau Provincial Government as mandated by the President through Presidential Decree Number 55 of 2019 concerning the Acceleration of the Battery-Based Electric Motor Vehicle Program for Road Transportation," Evarefita said in a written statement, Thursday, April 6.

General Manager of PLN Riau & Riau Islands Distribution Main Unit (UIDRKR) Agung Murdifi said PLN is ready to massively welcome the use of electric vehicles in Riau.

Currently, as many as 3 SPKLU units are available for electric car users and Public Electric Vehicle Battery Exchange Stations (SPBKLU) for electric motors are available in 10 locations in Riau.

"Thank you for the support from the Riau Provincial Government and the Dumai City Government, which are currently pleased to attend to inaugurate the SPKLU. PLN will continue to increase the SPKLU and SPBKLU units operating in Riau Province," said Agung.

Agung said PLN also collaborated with various parties to accelerate the development of this SPKLU and SPBKLU.

PLN also opens opportunities for business cooperation or franchises for partners interested in cooperating.
