JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI noted that 41 percent of long-distance train tickets during the Eid 2023 homecoming period were 41 percent per day.

The tickets sold were for train departures in the period 12 to 3 May 2023.

VP of Public Relations Joni Martinus said the tickets that had been sold were 1,255,334 tickets or 41 percent of the total tickets provided were 3,065,404

tickets. This means that there are still around 1,810,070 that have not been sold.

Even so, Joni is optimistic that the number of ticket sales will approach Eid al-Fitr 2023.

"The number will still increase, because sales are still ongoing," he said in a statement, Thursday, March 30.

Joni revealed that the period before Lebaran was dominated by passengers from the West (Jakarta or Bandung) towards the East (Central Java and East Java).

"For the period after Lebaran, passengers from the East (Central Java or East Java) are dominated towards the West (Jakarta or Bandung)," he said.

Meanwhile, based on the date of departure, the favorite trains were ordered, including April 20, 2023 as much as 70 percent; April 21, 2023 as much as 66 percent and April 25, 2023 as much as 67 percent.

"If the desired ticket runs out, the customer can select an alternative date or take advantage of the Connecting Train feature in the KAI Access application which will help provide travel options by combining a connecting train schedule," he said.

"KAI hopes that the community can plan their journey well because the train tickets for the Eid Transport period are still quite widely available," he said.
