JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) as one of Indonesia Battery Corporation (IBC) shareholders, supports IBC's steps in standardizing batteries for electric motors through the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IBC and 3 (three) manufacturing, namely Gesits, Alva and Volta.

In his remarks, PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo explained, this collaboration will make it easier for Motion users through standardization and various innovations for the electric vehicle ecosystem.

"With this synergy, KBLBB infrastructure facilities can be used on a cross platform, encouraging standardization and various other innovations in the development, especially electric motorcycles," Darmawan told the media, Wednesday, March 29.

He also added that collaboration will accelerate the electric vehicle ecosystem, so that optimal access and services for the community are more fulfilled.

"To accelerate the electric vehicle ecosystem even more massively in the community, optimal access and services are needed for the community. For this reason, collaboration needs to be carried out by all parties," said Darmawan.

According to him, integration with electric motorcycle manufacturers is able to provide convenience for customers so there is no need to worry about exchanging batteries.

On the same occasion, IBC President Director Toto Nugroho explained, battery standardization is very important. The difference between charging panels and batteries makes people's choice of electric vehicles minimal. With the standard standards and the same, it encourages people's interest in owning electric vehicles.

This is a very strategic step because we want the hardware and software platform to be standardized. With this uniformity, all people can enjoy without hesitation there is a difference between panels and batteries," said Toto.

Toto added that the big picture of this collaboration is like an ATM card together. Although there are several different types of ATM machines and of various types of banks, any type of ATM card can be used in general.

On the other hand, the President Director of PT WIKA Industri Manufacturing (GESITS), Bernardi Djumiril, said that the transition from fuel vehicles to electric vehicles cannot be done alone. It takes collaboration and a continuous improvement process to answer customer needs.

"The three of us are here compact to provide batre standardization from their respective users, both from dimensions, connections, and battery lockers, so that it can make it easier for customers," he added.
