JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) plans to form a new directorate to support the work safety and health system or Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE).

Responding to this, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif said, actually every Pertamina business unit already has people swimming to handle HSSE.

Arifin added, regarding the formation of this new directorate, it has been discussed with the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir, which oversees Pertamina and has agreed to form it.

According to him, the establishment of the HSSE Directorate is an obligation for a company that has a business with hazardous materials.
