"Alhamdulillah, the leadership and members of the DPR unanimously agreed that I be the Governor of BI for the period 2023-2028," he said at the Senayan Parliament Complex, Jakarta on Monday, March 20.

He also thanked Commission XI for the cooperation and implementation of this fit and proper test. Not to forget Perry conveyed the same thing to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) for his trust in submitting his name as a single candidate.

"This is in accordance with the Presidential Letter (Surpres) to the DPR. Thank you Mr. President for trusting me in the next five years," he said.

For information, Perry Warjiyo occupied the BI 1 seat in 2018 after replacing Agus Martowardojo, who previously also served as Minister of Finance in President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's cabinet.
