JAKARTA PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI) decided to distribute dividends of IDR 7.32 trillion or equivalent to 40 percent of the net profit obtained in 2022 amounting to IDR 18.31 trillion.

BNI President Director Royke Tumilaar said that of the total dividends distributed, the government received the largest allotment of IDR 4.39 trillion for being the controlling shareholder with a portion of 40 percent.

While the remaining Rp2.92 trillion or 40 percent will be given to public shareholders in accordance with their respective ownership portions.

The dividend value distributed increased 2.69 times from the total dividend for the 2021 financial year which amounted to IDR 2.72 trillion. Thus, the dividend value per share this time was set at IDR 392.78, compared to last year's IDR 146," he said at a press conference on Wednesday, March 15.

According to Royke, the remaining 60 percent net profit or IDR 10.98 trillion will be used as retained earnings balance for sustainable business development in the future.

"The company remains optimistic that it can record positive performance growth in line with the transformation agenda that is still running in 2023," he said.

Royke added that the increase in the dividend payment ratio to 40 percent this year was carried out in line with the company's financial performance which continued to improve with a profit achievement of IDR 18.3 trillion in 2022.

Not only that, the company also claims to manage the capital adequacy ratio (CAR) at a healthy level of 19.3 percent so that it has the capacity to divide dividends with a larger ratio and value.

"The increase in the dividend value per share this year to IDR 392.78, is expected to provide optimal dividend yields to shareholders," he said.
