JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) through the Directorate General of Land Transportation is preparing the Port of Ciwandan, Banten, to unravel congestion at Merak Port during the 2023 Eid Transport period.

In line with this, the Ministry of Transportation advises people to buy tickets online.

Director General of Land Transportation, Hendro Sugiatno, said that people can buy tickets online through Ferizy both during homecoming and homecoming.

Tickets can be purchased long before departure.

"To the public, I suggest buying crossing tickets through the Ferizy application and if possible, buy tickets early or long before the day of departure," he said in an official statement, Tuesday, March 14.

Hendro said that special ticket sales for motorbikes and logistics trucks only had a choice through the Ciwandan-Bakauheni and Ciwandan-Panjang routes.

Furthermore, Hendro said, purchasing tickets through the Ferizy application would accelerate prospective travelers to enter the ship.

"Of course with Ferizy, it will speed up the process of entering vehicles onto ships so that people don't have to wait too long," he explained.

Hendro hopes that with optimal Ferizy services, he can ensure ticket availability and facilitate services at the Crossing Port.

There are several other advantages with the application of Ferizy, namely that you can book tickets anywhere and anytime, cashless because payments through applications/websites, and insurance rights are more guaranteed because the data is complete, accurate and validity is maintained.

Here's how to buy tickets via Ferizy, namely:

1. Download the Ferizy application on Smartphone or via the ferry.com website

2. Select departure schedule

3. Fill in your personal data in full

4. Make a payment

5. Electronic Tickets will be sent to email

6. Show Electronic Tickets to officers at the port and will be exchanged for boarding passes.

Previously reported, the Ministry of Transportation plans to operate Ciwandan Port. This port is not an alternative, but will operate simultaneously with other ferry ports during Lebaran homecoming.

Hendro said this port will be prioritized for travelers with two-wheeled vehicles and logistics trucks that are allowed to operate during the Lebaran 2023 homecoming period.

"Especially for motorcycle users and logistics trucks. There will be served with the Ciwandan-Bakauheni track for homecoming and Ciwandan-Panjang for homecoming flows," said Hendro.

On the Ciwandan-Bakauheni route, 12 RoRo ships will be served, while the Ciwandan 'Panjang' route will be served by 3 ships belonging to PT Pelni and PT ALP.

As for the 5 piers at Ciwandan Port, including pier 02, pier 03, pier 05A, 06 and also 07 with a plan of 24 trips/day.

Meanwhile, 7 piers operating at Merak Port will be served with a total of 65 RoRo ships.

"Later on, 4-wheeled vehicles and buses will use Merak Port for homecoming and Bakauheni for backflow, separated from 2-wheeled vehicles and trucks so that they are not too crowded," he said.
