The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) said it was still waiting for an incentive scheme in the form of an electric car.

This was stated by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Industry, Dody Widodo, at the Indonesia Leading Economic Forum 2023 event, at the St. Regis Hotel, Jakarta, Tuesday, March 14.

"For (incentives) cars, right, we are still waiting from the Ministry of Finance," he told reporters.

When asked further about the amount of incentives that will be given by the government, Dody was reluctant to provide an answer.

"It's better to wait, now the rules are being made," he said.

Previously, the Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said that the provision of incentives for electric vehicles would be expanded, namely for cars and buses. According to him, the amount of incentives has been decided by the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu).

"(The amount of electric vehicle incentives) for motorbikes, cars, and buses has been decided, it has been decided by the minister," he told reporters at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, Thursday, March 9.

Agus said that the scheme for providing incentives for cars and electric buses would be different from motorbikes.

Even so, he continued, announcements regarding the amount of incentives will be announced in the near future.

"On March 20, we launched (the amount of incentives) for all (electric vehicles)," he concluded.
