Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono reviewed the work of increasing/preservation of the 32 km Pomalaa-Wolulu National Road section in Southeast Sulawesi, on Wednesday, March 8.
In the review, Basuki reminded the implementing contractor and supervisory consultant to meet the target on time and quality. Based on the contract, the work is targeted for completion in December 2023.
"Please check the quality, because this is an important route connecting Sangia Nibandera Kolaka Airport and also connecting to Kendari. In order to be completed on time, please add the number of workers and heavy equipment," Basuki said in a press release, Thursday, March 9.
Minister Basuki also reminded not to forget to pay attention to the quality of the road drainage that was built so as not to cause inundation during heavy rains.
"Don't forget to also strengthen the cliffs on the side of the road, especially at points prone to landslides. Every section or road point that has been completed so that it doesn't just leave, but must be cleaned of the remaining construction materials," he said.
Meanwhile, Head of the Southeast Sulawesi National Road Implementation Agency (BPJN) Freddy Siagian said the purpose of maintaining this road was to maintain the availability of road conditions, thereby smoothing logistics distribution.
"This package uses State Sharia Securities (SBSN) with a contract value for the multi-year 2022-2023 of IDR 132 billion, with contractor PT Agung Sarana Persada-PT Agung Sarana Persada, KSO and supervisory consultant PT Tribina Matra Carya Cipta," he said.
Freddy said this section is a collector's road which is also Kolaka's alternative to Kendari. In this preservation, a road widening has also been carried out from 4.5 meters to 6 meters.
"Especially the section connects Kolaka to Kasipute, Bombana Regency, which has a port and can continue to Kendari. Meanwhile, there is also arterial / main road from Kendari to Kolaka with a width of 7 meters," he explained.
"The physical progress of road preservation is currently 33.44 percent. I am optimistic that the work can be completed on time and quality in December 2023," concluded Freddy.
