Coordinating Minister For Economy Airlangga: Corruption-Free Government Is A Requirement For Economic Equality

JAKARTA - The Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto said that a corruption-free government is a condition for economic growth and equity.

Corruption prevention also needs to be done to optimize policies to take advantage of the demographic bonus.

"This momentum, which has only happened once in the history of a nation, needs attention so that Indonesia can leapfrog to become a high-income country," said Airlangga in the signing of the Commitment to Implementation of Corruption Prevention Actions for 2023-2024, quoted from Antara, Thursday, March 9.

For this reason, the government is implementing the National Corruption Prevention Strategy (Stranas PK) as the main pillar for preventing corruption in Indonesia.

For 2023-2024, corruption prevention actions are focused on licensing and trade administration, state finances, and law enforcement as well as bureaucratic reform.

As an elaboration of the focus and objectives of the Stranas PK, the government has established various programs and activities which are a form of action to prevent corruption in various sectors, including the licensing and trade administration sectors.

One of them, the Coordinator for Economic Affairs together with Stranas PK, the National Single Window Institution, and Ministries/Agencies have worked together to build a Commodity Balance as a basis for consideration of more transparent government policies in the export-import sector.

"The three milestones are expected to be able to complete exports and imports in a timely manner, in the right quantity, and on target," said the Coordinating Minister for Airlangga.

Furthermore, Airlangga has also pushed for the completion of the Job Creation Law to clarify overlapping land arrangements.

"We have completed 85 complete thematics and we will add 153 them, a total of 153. And it is hoped that this year and next year they can be completed," said Airlangga.
