Tickets For Homecoming Trains Haven't Been Sold Out Yet, KAI Suspects People Are Still Waiting For The Leave Schedule

JAKARTA - KAI Lebaran train tickets have only sold 299,782 seats out of a total of 1,129,389 provided. This means that there are still quite a number of tickets available or around 700,000 others that have not been sold.

Meanwhile, ticket sales have been open since D-45 before Eid al-Fitr or on February 26. Are Lebaran Train Tickets Not Selling?

KAI's VP of Public Relations Joni Martinus said ticket sales, which are still at 26 percent of the total provided, were caused by several factors. One of them, the public is still waiting for leave from the company they work for.

"There are many factors. It is possible that people are still waiting for the arrangement of leave from the office. Some are still in the context of making plans first, waiting for the family schedule, waiting for the school vacation fix and others," Joni told VOI, Wednesday, March 8.

Even so, Joni is optimistic that the number of ticket sales will continue to move along with the approaching Eid transportation period later. Moreover, said Joni, the government is no longer limiting people's mobility.

"Certainly this year will be higher than last year, because last year's Eid transportation there was still a limitation on transport capacity," he said.

In addition, said Joni, of the 299,782 tickets sold, there are several homecoming destination routes that are favorites. One of them is Jakarta-Solo.

"There are some, Jakarta-Solo, Jakarta-Surabaya, Bandung-Blitar, Jakarta-Yogyakarta. The Pasarsenen-Malang route has also been sold out for departures for D-7 Lebaran," he explained.

When asked if there were additional trains for the best-selling route, Joni did not explain in detail. He only said it was still being evaluated.

"It's still being evaluated (about the addition of trains)," he said.
