JAKARTA - The 2023 Indonesian International Motor Show (IIMS) automotive exhibition at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, has ended on Sunday, February 26, 2023.

That moment managed to boost sales of electric vehicles this year.

As is known, the Indonesian government is encouraging an increase in the use of electric vehicles.

Apart from being environmentally friendly, this is also done to reduce the increasing budget for subsidies for fuel oil (BBM).

General Manager Dyandra Promosindo Rudi MF said he was happy with the trend of electric vehicles at this year's exhibition.

Moreover, there are many manufacturers both two-wheeled and four-wheeled, who also introduced their latest vehicle model.

"As of Friday (24/2/2023) we have recap, but not to the category of ICE cars or electric cars. Only if you look at the trend, more and more people have sold electricity (vehicles)," said Rudi at JIExpo Kemayoran recently.

At IIMS 2023, said Rudi, there are a number of manufacturers that have launched electric cars such as MG4 EV and Esemka Bima EV which are being sold in Indonesia.

While DFSK Glory E3 is only introduced and has just been tested on the market.

"Last year, only one (electric car) now has Wuling Air EV, even MG has, there is also Toyota. Hopefully, the recap will be the same as last year and will increase," said Rudi.

Pada IIMS tahun lalu, penjualan mobil listrik memang meningkat signifikan setelah Hyundai meluncurkan Ioniq 5.

The environmentally friendly vehicle has become a consumer idol, even now its indent takes up to half a year.

"If you look at IIMS 2022, one brand, right, has published the figure that scored the highest transaction for Hyundai, IDR 1.2 trillion for 11 days. The majority of them were Ioniq's electric vehicles," explained Rudi.

Seeing the number of sales last year, Rudi continued, his party is optimistic that this year's IIMS can also increase sales of electric vehicles.

Moreover, from the two wheels, there are also those who have just launched their brands in Indonesia, which are believed to be suitable for their daily mobility needs.

"Hopefully (the results) will increase later. In fact, if you look at last year's trends, several brands have separated categories. There are 12 electric motorcycle brands, so the release of contributions from ICE variants and electricity can be seen," he added.

Just to note, IIMS 2023 was held by Dyandra Promosindo, on February 16-26 2023, by presenting 45 automotive brands.

The four-wheeled brands that also attended included Astra Daihatsu, BMW, Chery, DFSK, Honda, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, MG, Subaru, Suzuki, Toyota and Wuling to Indomobil Group presenting five brands, namely Audi, Citroen, KIA, Nissan, and Volkswagen (VW).
