Regarding The Preparatory F1 Powerboat At Lake Toba, Minister Sandiaga: Already Entered The Final Stage

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno said preparations for the world championship for motorboat racing F1 Powerboat World Championship (F1H2O), which will be held at Lake Toba, North Sumatra, on February 25-26, 2023, is almost complete.

"We have entered the final stage and all preparations have been optimal and maximized," said Sandiaga at The Weekly Brief with Sandi Uno, which was monitored online in Jakarta, Monday, February 20.

Sandiaga said, as many as 20 riders from 10 teams from six countries were already preparing to arrive in Indonesia.

"They will be ready to compete and this is the biggest first sport tourism event that we will hold on Lake Toba," he said.

In addition, the Powerboat F1 team has also assessed the feasibility and feasibility of supporting access waters around the related implementation site. "Finally, human resources (human resources) have also been prepared," he said.

Meanwhile, for hotel room rates, Sandiaga admitted that he had indeed increased later.

"However, we provide guidance so that the price does not increase significantly and we hope that the human resources will also receive training, so that they are ready to receive guests from abroad and also from the archipelago," he concluded.

Previously, the Ministry of PUPR said that the physical construction of the F1H2O arena had reached 99.97 percent and only left work on area cleaning.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said that his party has integratedly supported infrastructure development in the Lake Toba Super Priority Tourism Destination (DPSP), with the principle of structuring tourist areas that change the face of the region quickly, integratedly, and have an impact on the local and national economy.

The construction of the F1H2O area, which cost the 2022-2023 State Budget (APBN) worth IDR 35.9 billion, has been carried out by the Ministry of PUPR through the Regional Settlement Infrastructure Center (BPPW) of North Sumatra, Directorate General of Human Settlements since November 30, 2022 and completed February 21, 2023.
