The Batam City Distributor Association, Riau Islands, said that the supply of subsidized cooking oil for the Minya Kita brand in the local area was sufficient ahead of Ramadan 2023.

Chairman of the Batam City Distributor Association, Ariyanto, said that Minya Kita from the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) was sold at the highest retail price (HET) of IDR 14,000 per liter.

"Consumers buy more subsidized oil or Minya Kita because it's cheaper," said Ariyanto in Batam, Monday.

He said that other branded cooking oil is not in demand by the public because it has prices above Minya Kita.

Ariyanto said, apart from Minya Kita, the supply of other brands of cooking oil is certain to be sufficient.

"In Batam there is no problem. We have PT Synergy Oil Nusantara (SON) oil factories. They will continue to produce because raw materials are also safe," he said.

One of the basic food traders at the Mega Legenda Market in Batam City, Yanto said, "Omilita is more in demand by the public because it has almost the same quality as other brands even though the price is cheaper".

"Yes, this is more liked by people. Moreover, it is cheaper and the same thing," said Yanto.

According to him, the people who use the most oil are the traders who buy Minya Kita measuring one liter and five liters.
